Our main focus is to take donated computers and refurbish them so that they can be reused by qualifying students and seniors, the disabled, low income families, and small non-profit organizations, that cannot afford to purchase them new. Items that cannot be reused or repaired will be dis-assembled for parts and/or recycled.
When donated computers are unrepairable or obsolete (“end of life”), they are dis-assembled into a basic form that would allow the recycling of the material. Only certified local recyclers with recognized legal and ethical compliance of environmental standards are utilized.
- Obsolete or broken monitors are charged a fee for proper disposal.
- Aluminum, copper, and steel are sent to a metals recycling facility.
- Circuit boards and processors are sent to a precious metals recycling facility.
- Plastic is sent to a plastics recycling facility.
We are committed to protecting our environment. Our goal is the prevention of pollution from electronic waste, and to have none of our material end up in a landfill.
